In addition to the text of the online version, the cd rom contains a separate file of facsimiles of the first 24 pages of the 1724 edition of volume 1 of Winwood Memorials of State. This is the beginning of the facsimile serialisation of that entire work, in which diplomatic correspondence of the reigns of Elizabeth I and King James I is collected. In both the pdf online and CD rom versions of the Journal, Brenda James is serialising transcriptions of Neville's letters and revising the spelling, etc. so as to provide a searchable version of his linguistic usage. The facsimiles in the CD rom version represent the original printed version of these, together with letters of other statesmen of the time, including Robert Cecil.
