First published in 1725, Vivaldi's Four Seasons were written to accompany a set of four sonnets. Though it is not clear who wrote the sonnets, they are thought by some to have been written by Vivaldi himself.
The sonnets and their four accompanying violin concertos depict the four seasons and have become Vivaldi's most popular works.
