This beautiful A minor Violin Concerto, BWV 1041, was Written c.1720 whilst Bach was in Cothen - about the same time as he penned the Sonatas and Partitas (BWV1001-1006), the concerto in E major (BWV 1042) and the Concerto in D for 2 violins, BWV 1043 (the 'double violin concerto'). It has three movements:

  • [Allegro]
  • Andante
  • Allegro assai.

J.S. Bach was from a large family of musicians, including Kantors, fiddlers, organists and composers dating back to the 16th century. Johann Sebastian is regarded as the most important member of the family, who was a virtuoso Keyboard Player and composer creating thousands of outstanding musical compositions throughout his lifetime.
